About Us

Meet The Doctors

The Dance Hall Docs are a 12-piece regional horn and rhythm band out of Berks County, Pennsylvania. Funk, pop, R&B and soul, played the way the great horn bands of the 1970s and 1980s played it — loud, tight, and built for a dance floor.

A five-piece horn section rides on top of a five-piece rhythm section, and two vocalists. The book leans on the heavyweights: Tower of Power, Blood, Sweat & Tears, and the rest of the brass-forward canon that still empties chairs and fills floors.

Festivals, riverfront stages, weddings, patios, receptions, block parties — if there's room for twelve players and a horn line, the Docs will bring the prescription.

The Horn Section

Five players: trumpets, trombone and saxophones handling the punches, the pads, and the solos that make a Tower of Power chart land.

The Rhythm Section

Six players: drums, percussion, bass, guitar, keys and vocals, holding a pocket deep enough for the horns to sit right on top of.
